With only 10 performances, experience a breath-taking and unforgettable ballet when Don Quixote returns to the Joburg Theatre in March, Joburg Ballet’s first major production of the year.
Based on Miguel de Cervantes’ classic tale of romance and chivalry, Don Quixote is a ballet that was first performed in 1869. Warmth, charm and entertainment abound in this energetic and witty ballet where in the end, love conquers all.
Experience the famous Don Quixote Pas de Deux (once danced by famous Prima Ballerina Anna Pavlova in 1924!) and enjoy live music by the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, bringing to life one of the most beautiful musical scores ever created for a ballet.
The leading roles will feature some of Joburg Ballet’s most talented dancers.
During it’s limited run, you can enjoy international ballet stars, Marianella Nuñez and Vadim Muntagirov of the Royal Ballet, in the leading roles for two performances only (20 March at 19:30 and 22 March at 15:00).
